Why Choose Unlimited Home Wireless Broadband Plans?

The internet has become a necessity in every household. Today, you can’t live comfortably without it, like how you need electricity and water. It’s how you connect to the world, gather news, learn, play, and work. An average person consumes around 6 GB of data per month. The number is expected to rise with the creation of new apps and devices. As such, most WiFi deals offer unlimited data access. This is to see to it that every member of the household gets a fair share of internet connection.

Some of us are budget-conscious or smart enough to get the best of every cent spent. When looking for an NBN subscription, their common question is why choose unlimited home wireless broadband plans? Well, here is a logical explanation.

Difference between Limited and Unlimited Internet Plans

NBN plans in Australia come in different data sizes. Some offered unlimited data allowances while others put a data cap on the plan. Thus, we need to know the difference between limited and unlimited internet plans.

Limited data plans are typically cheaper than unlimited data plans. Yet, they have fixed data caps. When the fixed data cap has been used up, it will result in 2 scenarios:

    • The user will be barred from using the internet.
    • The user can continuously access the internet but will be charged with data overages.

Unlimited data plans, on the other hand, allow continuous internet connection even if you consume a large amount of data.

Most limited data plans have lower bandwidth than an unlimited data plan. Bandwidth is the amount of data transmitted while using the internet. Since limited data plans have a data cap, the capping somewhat impairs the continuous flow of data. This results in slow data transmission which is often mistaken as slow internet speed. With unlimited data plans, the absence of capping allows a continuous flow of data transmission among devices. As such, users are guaranteed to experience an unhampered internet connection every minute, every hour, and every day.

    Who Needs Unlimited Data?

People consume internet data every time they access the internet. Internet data is measured per bytes, kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB), and gigabytes (GB).

    • One kilobyte is equal to 1,024 bytes.
    • One megabyte is equal to 1,024 kilobytes.
    • One gigabyte is equal to 1,024 megabytes.

A person typically spends 3 hours and 15 minutes on the internet every day. This is using a mobile phone. The common online activities they engage in are:

    • Emailing, consuming around 1 MB per hour.
    • Chatting with family and friends, consuming around 50 MB per hour.
    • Web browsing, consuming around 60 MB per hour.
    • Playing online games, consuming around 80 MB per hour.
    • Music streaming, consuming around 100 MB per hour.
    • Video calling, consuming around 200 MB per hour.
    • Video Streaming, consuming around 700 MB per hour.

With the information listed above, unlimited data plans are recommended for Australian households with 3 or more internet users. Exceeding your data allowance on a limited internet plan may be very expensive. As the internet becomes a necessity nowadays, it will be best to free yourself from worrying about overages.

    Why Choose Unlimited Internet Plan?

There are so many reasons why a household needs to choose an unlimited data plan.

    • First, it gives every internet user at home a better online experience and a fair share of online connectivity.
    • Second, people use the internet to connect to the world. You need internet data to chat with colleagues, family, and friends. You also need it for instant messaging and video calls. If you don’t have an unlimited internet plan, chances are, you’ll run out of data to continuously connect to the world.
    • Third, recreation is very much different today. People enjoy gaming, music streaming, and video streaming. If you are a fan of Netflix or Stan, you may need to wait for your internet data cap to replenish to view the latest episode of a series.
